Travel Project
Name of Assignment: Plan a Trip Project
Subject: Consumer Math Facilitator/Teacher: Christine Marsh Description of Work/Assignment: We were assigned to create a fictional trip where we would vacation somewhere not on island. The trip would take place in our college years. Our goal for this project was to establish prices Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? This ones obvious with it tying to Financial, Economic, and Business Literacy, with its direct tie to personal economic skills. As well as Self Directional Skills as this was a one man project. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I'm proud to have a reasonable amount I would need to save up. Some people who presented their projects had ludicrous amounts of money they would need to save up. How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I think the very creation of the budget was a first time step, one that helped me understand how money just piles up so fast. What was most difficult about completing this task? I couldn't find and/or decide which hotel would be best for me. I found a really nice one for a lot of money. And also found out they had a scientology book in their religion section. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? If I started over I would have picked somewhere that wasn't Seattle. There wasn't much to do there, a few parks. That was about it though. How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This relates to my older math saving assignments, This is the first proper savings apartment I've done. How can you apply this to future learning? In the future, if I ever move somewhere, ill know how to save better. |
