Marine Bio Paper
Name of Assignment: Final Paper
Subject: Marine Sciences
Facilitator/Teacher: Adam Fleischer
Description of Work/Assignment: We were assigned to write a scientific research paper about ocean acidification, how it works and how it effects plankton. We had to address the problem itself and a unique local solution we can do.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? During my time writing I think the two 21st Century Skills I used the most was Information Skills because of the amount of scientific research I had to find online and apply. As well as my Thinking and Problem Solving Skills with the same reasons. Being that I found and used scientific resources.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I'm extremely proud of how the paper came out. It was my first time writing in a proper scientific format. Other than that I think the research sources I had were really really solid, with most being .gov cites
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? The research itself was the bulk of what my 21st Century Skills were used in. So I think I got most of my skills from finding good sources and picking those apart.
What was most difficult about completing this task? I kind of panicked at the end when the due date raced closer than I'm comfortable with. But I ended up turning it in on time and got a full good grade.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? If I could start over id change what solutions I have to try something new. I also think my older solution was a bit weak.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? It relates to all my previous science classes, it is one of an other massive problem going on in the science world.
How can you apply this to future learning? If I ever write any other scientific papers in the future Ill know how to properly do so. As well as knowing what ocean acidification is to a full extent
