Junior Project - Sprout Quest
Name of Assignment: Junior Project
Subject: Junior Seminar Facilitator/Teacher: Cassie Kepler Description of Work/Assignment: A mandatory assignment to plan and coordinate your very own project for being a junior. It follows what you like while also being something that can be helpful for others Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? I would say that this assignment is the definition of Self Directional skills as its main goal is to give students freedom yet a challenging goal. I would also say Communication Skills were used here to convey a story and to document and show my work. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? All of it, from the fact I actually coded and understood the difficulties of being a programmer to the amazing art and animations I put into the game. Im super proud of all of it How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? This was the first project to actually get myself to be pushed, I feel like if I started another game I could actually have the drive to do it in the future What was most difficult about completing this task? The coding, even though there were so many helpful guides on how to code and do stuff to make it easier, there were still so many errors. How could you improve this work? I didn't fully code enemy AI so that's what I would primarily put into it, also cutscenes weren't able to be implemented so I would add that How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? funnily enough scratch and my previous class where we learned how to code little theoretical things was super similar, what was different is that we just had to write them out. How can you apply this to future learning? If i ever get deeper into programming this is a great start, the art itself taught me so much about animation. |
